Tiramisu is an Italian dessert meaning “pick me up” thanks to its generous coffee hit.
Ingredients
- 4 egg yolks
- 6 tbs CSR White Sugar
- 2 tsp vanilla sugar
- 500g mascarpone cheese
- 1 cup espresso coffee
- 4 tbsp amaretto
- 48 small 'savoiardi' sponge fingers
- 4 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
Method
- Put the egg yolks, CSR White Sugar and vanilla sugar in a small bowl and mix gently to a creamy consistency. Fold in the Mascarpone to obtain a cream.
- Mix the coffee with the Amaretto, dip the 'Savoiardi' for a second or two in the coffee mixture, making sure they don't become too soggy.
- Starting with the 'Savoiardi' arrange on individual plates, then top with Mascarpone. Top with two more 'Savoiardi' then end with a final layer of Mascarpone. Sprinkle the servings generously with Cocoa Powder and put into the fridge for an 1-2hrto set and chill.
