Rich Chocolate Mug Cake

3 minutes to a quick chocolate fix, is all this recipe takes when that chocolate craving hits! Truly decadent, our rich chocolate mug cake will take microwave “baking” to a new level.
The CSR Dark Muscovado Sugar enhances the chocolate flavour and adds a warm dark toffee aroma to this rich chocolate mug cake.
Ingredients
- 2 tbsp coconut oil
- 1 large egg, lightly beaten
- 2 tbsp White Wings plain flour
- 1½ tbsp CSR Muscovado Sugar
- 1 tbs cocoa powder
- ¼ tsp sea salt flakes
- ½ tsp vanilla extract
- 1 soft chocolate truffle of your choice (we used Lindt Lindor balls)
- Chocolate sprinkles (optional)
- Vanilla ice cream or thick cream (optional)
Method
- Place all the ingredients (except the truffle) into a large mug.
- Whisk with a fork until you have a smooth batter, then push the chocolate truffle into the batter.
- Microwave on high power for 50 seconds or until it's just cooked on the outside and still gooey chocolate in the middle. Eat while steaming hot.
- If you want to dress it up, top with chocolate sprinkles or a light dusting of CSR Pure Icing Sugar and serve with a little cream or vanilla ice-cream.
