Love a homemade jam? Try this luscious mixed berry jam using new seasons berries and it’s so simple to make, you’ll wonder why you didn’t make it sooner. Our CSR Jam Setting Sugar takes all the hard work out of it!
CSR Jam Setting Sugar makes it easy to create a brightly coloured jam that is full of fresh fruit flavour. Works best on low pectin fruit such as apricots, blueberries, peaches, raspberries and strawberries.
Ingredients
- 1kg mixed red berries
- 1kg CSR Jam Setting Sugar
Method
- Wash the fruit. Hull the strawberries and half any large fruit.
- Add all the berries (we used 750g strawberries and 250g raspberries) to a large heavy bottomed steel or enamelled cast iron pan.
- Cook uncovered, on a low heat for 10 mins or until the berry juices start to run then add the CSR Jam Setting Sugar. Stir until the sugar has dissolved. Increase the heat, bring to the boil and cook for another 5 mins.
- Test the jam setting point has been reached by dropping a little of the hot jam on to a cold plate. Allow it to cool slightly and push it with your finger – it’s ready when the jam wrinkles.
- Transfer the hot jam to 4 hot sterilised jars and seal while hot
